Cub has a coupon "$1.50 for a box of cereal, must purchase 4". What a wonderful affect we would have on the Mission Outpost food shelf if all of us donated 4 boxes of cereal this week. Cost $6. The coupon is on the front page of the Cub ads provided at the entrance.

Everyone knows where there is a Cub Food Store, but is everyone able to take advantage of their weekly specials? I love to shop for bargains but like everyone else I have been effected by the economy. I can still shop for bargains at Cub but what about the people in our community that do not have transportation or health or money, etc. to take advantage of the bargains? Even though it is challenging for me to give to others with the financial struggles I am facing God has blessed me with the des…

Dear Nexus Community,
Good morning. As many of you know, I have been competing in triathlons now for a little over two years. The initial reason was the drive to get back into shape and live a healthy lifestyle for my ever-growing family.
Last summer, my college classmate and friend, Nick Huber, passed away from ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. I knew very little about this disease or the profound impact that it has on the patient and their loved ones. During this time, I also hear…

Friends,
www.projectfoodstock.org has a 16,000-sq. ft. garden in Lakeville where we're growing produce to be given to local food shelves.
The invitation: we need your help! there is weeding and harvesting to be done, and the more hands helping, the more impact we can make in feeding others. We've already delivered rhubarb, raspberries, radishes, and about 20 pounds of strawberries. so come for an hour, come for a couple hours,…

Early Monday morning (June 15), two vans full of High School students and adult leaders pulled out of the Prince of Peace parking lot. We’re headed for a lodge in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This week is an opportunity for us to all grow in our faith through community, Bible study and fun! Check back often for updates from the students and leaders!

Do you believe this statement? I do. When I look people in the eye, I can see how they are. Can you? Do you take the time to really care about another person? I have been trying to smile and look at people in the eye and say hello to everyone I meet. The reason I do this is because God has shown me that many many people are hurting out there and suffering in silence. They feel alone and don't want to burden anyone with their hurt, they feel unloved by family, friends, the church.
A simple smile…

As I seek to discover more of who I am, I find myself being held in tension between sacrifice and mercy. They may seem to be the same, sacrifice and mercy, but they are two different and distinct responses, and yet one without the other limits my growth and partnership in and with the kingdom of God. I find that I can live very sacrificially without living very mercifully. I can give up that one cup of coffee a day, or one hour a week, or… in order to give to the church or to a ministry. I can l…

We will be hosting our next newcomers' meeting on the 19th (also a notable day for Heatherlyn) after Nexus services. Is anyone interested in helping to host a simple lunch of soup, salad and bread? I'm out of commission for the next week but will look online for your responses when I get back. Thanks for considering.

Thinking about serving and belonging to a small group...
I want to be an encourager and also need to be encouraged (the kick in the backside:) to get motivated.
We have pets, but no children. We totally spoil our dog (Oreo: 13 year old lab mix) and 2 cats who have us trained.
And we are on the mature end of the Nexus age spectrum. I'm 53 and working on my Masters degree at Adler Graduate School and am so thankful to have this opportunity. I need to be spiritually, intellectually and physically c…

I had the fortunate opportunity to attend the Men's Retreat last weekend. It was a great opportunity for someone like myself who is really new to Prince of Peace to meet a great group of men and begin to understand God's calling.
The context of the weekend was around community. We discussed how God created us for community with Him and community with each other. While our society and human nature has caused barriers to creating this genuine community, there are true opportunities here at POP an…

I believe we’ve all been given something to share with the world.
My whole life I’ve felt moved to share my voice with the world, but there were many things that have gotten in the way, both internally and externally.
I grew up in a highly expressive church culture, where I would sing gospel music with a microphone in hand before a hundred people as early as 4 years old. I have vivid memories of people asking me for a TAPE recording since I was around 10 years old. I began to study Vocal Perfo…

I am the girl who is telling everyone I meet that I'm pregnant. My hand is perpetually rubbing my belly, the way only a pregnant woman does. I do this not because I want the attention, I do it because it is a huge blessing that I am able to say that I'm pregnant. I want the world to know that God has blessed me. Let me tell you the story...
It was July 2005, my husband (of 2 years) and I were weeks from closing on our new home. I was in my doctors office when she told me that I had Polycystic Ov…
